we all know vegans LOVE cupcakes and now LA folks can get their fix at the newly-opened sweet e’s storefront in beverly hills.

we have been fans of the tiny treats from sweet e’s mini bakeshop for a while now, so we were super excited when we heard they were getting a brick and mortar location, and would stock at least one vegan flavor daily. i checked out the cute new store earlier this week and as usual the desserts were delicious…

Resigned to an nine hour journey from Manhattan to Hollywood with nothing but a bag or two of potato chips to eat, I could not believe my luck when I stumbled upon an entire section of Vegan prepared foods at the busy Balducci’s Deli, right outside the United gates at JFK’s insanely busy Terminal 7.

I opted for the two vegan dishes: Vegan Udon Noodles, and Vegan Shanghai Dumpling, with a side of Chick Pea Salad (sic). Right away I was astonished at the sheer weight of this food. There were easily three portions per package, and with two packages and the side salad I lugged at least seven servings of food back to my table!

hey everyone! just a heads up that you are gonna need reservations if you want to eat at doomie’s on their opening weekend (december 11th and 12th)…so i suggest you book NOW.

opening weekend they will be open from noon to 10pm, so let them know what time you wanna come. give ’em a call, hit ’em up on facebook, do whatcha gotta do.

they are probably taking reservations so they can deal with the insane demand for their amazing food. so just book early and don’t miss out. TRUST ME.

i’ve only been there once, but i’m head over heels in love with gracias madre. the entirely vegan restaurant in san francisco’s mission district serves up huge portions of organic mexican food that’s just fantastic.

we hit up gracias madre a couple months ago, and were shocked by how good it was. we were first taken aback by the amazing atmosphere. i’m used to vegan restaurants being small and often times dingy…but this was a huge wide open space with a clean and colorful decor.

hey everyone! time for a reader review by leigh about an awesome all vegan los angeles cobbler stand called cobblermania. i’ve never tried their food, but this place appears to be a bit of a moving target, operating everyday at the NE corner of la brea and venice…as well at various farmers markets including hollywood, mar vista, torrance, culver city, downtown LA, and san dimas. the best way to track these guys down/get their hours is to call (323) 316-4793. i called them at 8:30pm on a weeknight, and they picked up and were ready to answer any questions about their schedule. from the looks of this review, they are definitely worth checking out. i know i am gonna make it a point to visit them soon!

Cobbler Mania is a cobbler stand on the NE side of the intersection between La Brea and Venice and it promises to be “So Good You’ll (Want To) Slap Somebody!”. They’re not out there every single day but they were today and were prominently displaying a tempting “$5.00 Cobbler Sale” sign…

if you haven’t been to stuff i eat yet, you are missing out big time. we’ve named it one of LA’s best vegan restaurants two years in a row, and every time i dine there i have a wonderful experience.

i’ve tried several things on the stuff i eat menu, and have never once been disappointed. every plate seems to be overflowing with colorful organic goodness that looks and tastes amazing.

i’m a huge fan of cafe fresh in dublin, ireland…an all vegetarian restaurant with light and healthy food, and plenty of vegan options.

the portions at fresh are enormous, and the food is simple yet very high quality. we ate so much when we dined there, and felt surprisingly energetic afterwards. i wish we had places like this in los angeles, where i could eat a massive quantities of food and still feel like a million bucks.

unless you have been living under a rock, you probably know that the wynn is the vegan capital of las vegas. basically the owner, steve wynn, went vegan and decided that there should be an animal-free option at EVERY restaurant in his casino. score! walk into any wynn eatery, ask for the vegan menu, and you are set.

we hit up wynn over the holiday weekend, and pizza place was our first stop. vegan-friendly salads, appetizers, and pizza covered in teese by chicago soydairy. you just can’t go wrong…

on a recent trip to san francisco, the place i was most excited about visiting was patxi’s chicago pizza. three words, people: VEGAN DEEP DISH.

there are a few paxti’s scattered around the bay area, and we hit up the hayes street location for our vegan pie. we got a great table by the window, and i was immediately pleased with the comfy atmosphere. dim lighting, warm colors, and an exposed brick wall decorated with pretty paintings.

i couldn’t even believe it when i went to chili addiction recently and saw they had a new menu item named after ME. the quarrygirl burger combines two of my favorite dishes—the hearty match-based burger and johnny’s insane homemade sauerkraut. of course, i had to order it!
