10January 29th, 2011vegan cheesehave you heard?! today is the first annual VEGAN PIZZA DAY. i hope you are celebrating with some delicious cruelty-free pizza! i know i am.
what kind of pizza are you eating today? i’d love to hear about it. please email me pictures of your vegan pizza, and i will post them on the blog. i know we talk a lot about los angeles on this site…but i wanna post pictures from all over. i don’t care where you are, SEND ME YOUR VEGAN PIZZA SNAP SHOTS! i’ll go first:

Hmmm….I’m thinking of going to Pitfire since that’s probably the one LA vegan pizza that I haven’t tried yet.

We have one of those stupid half-width ovens. Got a bunch of cookie sheets and casserole pans that don’t even fit in it.

I had a couple of slices at Hard Times today!! It was delicious.. and the first time I have ever liked fake cheese. The woman who was working there was very nice and asked me a bunch of questions about veganism… e.g., Why I wanted my slices in a separate box from my non-vegan boyfriend’s pizza. She told me that a lot of people showed up today for vegan pizza day. Yay for Hard Times and for all the great vegan options in town!

Quarry Girl, thank you SO much for arranging the discount with Pizza Fusion! I tried the Daiya cheese on my Very Vegan Pizza tonight for the first time, and will ALWAYS have it this way from now on! With the crimini mushrooms, roasted garlic, tomato sauce, and (added) roasted onions and roasted tricolor peppers, this was THE best vegan pizza I have ever had! And oh how I LOVE the gluten-free vegan crust! I can hardly wait to order from Pizza Fusion again! My partner and I will always look forward to Vegan Pizza Day now, thanks to you, Quarry Girl, and to the FABULOUS Hollywood Pizza Fusion!

I tried 2 different pizzas at Pitfire – the mushroom one (without creme) and the Margherita…both were excellent. The manager was really nice and discussed the vegan pizza situation w/ me a bit. He said the vegan pizzas have been very popular….I told him I haven’t been to Pitfire in 10 years or so but will now be a regular customer…he was happy to hear that!
