very vegan weekend: WORLDFEST, weenies, pizza slices & MORE!
11UPDATE: it appears that zpizza is not selling vegan pizza at every store, even though that’s how they advertised it on twitter. PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL STORE TO CHECK.
as of friday evening, both the weho and chatsworth locations were clueless about the promotion. however, santa clarita is totally legit. let’s hope they get this ironed out soon. we want slices!

hey everyone, another weekend full of awesome vegan events is comin’ atcha!
vegan ice cream at worldfest
i’m gonna go a little bit out of order and say the one thing you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO check out this weekend is worldfest which takes place on sunday may 16th from 10:30am to 7pm at woodley park. there is gonna be music, vegan food galore, bands, beer, and celebrity speakers. it costs $7 to get in for adults, $5 for seniors, and kids under 12 are free. for more info check out the worldfest website, and be sure to read my review from last year.
the food alone is seriously worth the admission price. vegan ice cream, corndogs, funnel cakes, and lots of new products you haven’t had before. see ya there…
in other cool stuff going on this weekend, from today may 14th through sunday may 16th, zpizza will be selling VEGAN PIZZA BY THE SLICE! their daiya cheese covered pizza is some of the best around, so be sure to stop by one of the many LA locations and take advantage. and even if you don’t live in los angeles, there are zpizzas all over the country. slice it up!
saturday may 15th is nice cream’s official grand opening. drop in for some of their delicious soft serve between 10am and 10pm and show some support. also, i hear that on sunday may 16th they will be handing out free ice cream cones to kids! check their facebook page for hours.
and on sunday night, when you are done feasting it up at worldfest, head downtown to madex’s guerrilla drive-in for a showing of “falling down” and vegan sausages by our favorite food cart, the frankenstand! as you probably already know, the frankenstand is amazing and you need to check them out if you haven’t already. good entertainment, good food, and dtla…a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
so there you have it, a very vegan weekend with tons of stuff to eat and do. seeya at worldfest!

I went to Worldfest last year and had an absolute blast! I’ll definitely be there again, with a spot staked out in the Beer Garden!

Hey Everybody, we are going to unveil 2 new products at worldfest this year. Our new Peanut Butter Crunch Bar which tastes like a whatchamacallit and Cookie Dough Bon Bons which are cookie dough balls covered in chocolate. Both are insanely addictive. stop by and say hi.

Good times at Worldfest ….but I didn’t see any vegan corndogs there.
..and, I just want to say: FUCK YOU, Funnel Cake stand!!! They claimed “All vegan ingredients”, but I took a look at the whipped cream container – CASEIN. The guy was actually a dick about it too …”Ooooh, the 2% sodium caseinate …that qualifies as non-dairy for food service”. At that point, I’m not even going to trust their batter ingredients… canceled my order, and I the poor girl who just got her funnel cake seemed pretty pissed off about it, too.
Fuck those assholes. Ban them from Worldfest, please.
