new sushi and ramen menu at shojin!
24September 18th, 2011LA restaurants, shojinhell yeah! shojin, the all vegan japanese restaurant (and one of our favorite places to eat in LA) is starting a whole new sushi, ramen, and cocktail menu on monday september 19th.
they’ve sent us a sneak peek and we can’t wait to go try it. you may remember how much i’ve raved about their insane dynamite roll (it’s even on our vegan bucket list!), and these new creations look just as tasty. check ’em out:
omg. i don’t know about you guys, but i’m totally jonesing for the pirates of the crunchy roll! and shojin told me via email that they think it’ll be even more popular than the dynamite roll. looks like i need to go see for myself..
see you guys at shojin this week. sushi party! oh, and here’s a copy of the new ramen menu as well…

aww, I wish they had a sampler plate with one of each of the new sushi rolls. I want to try all of them at once! Ramen look delish too! 🙂

Shojin now serves beer and wine and sake! So great to be able to drink while eating there. Too bad they closed for lunch on weekdays though.

Just drooled over my keyboard with my bf while reading all the ingredients in the Rock Mountain. Holy mother of flavor! They made a roll out of my favorite appetizer!!! Woooo!

With rolled sushi it doesn’t make sense to serve less than a full roll since when you make the roll and cut it you end up with 8 pieces normally. If you didn’t serve the other pieces they would get old and go to waste. With nigirizushi each piece is made by hand and they’re normally served as a pair.
I think best way to try different kinds of sushi is to bring a big group of people and just share.
I just looked at their menu and saw that they serve shiso tempura. I haven’t been there many times and maybe I missed it last time but that is the best thing ever, as long as you like shiso.

Get the chocolate raspberry cake (I believe it was)…………sooooooo yummy. I gotta go back here. Also it’s in a cool mall where you can go shopping afterwards.

Why don’t you ask the restaurant to make that a menu item? They probably could do it…

I replied to the sampler plate statement and it didn’t end up beneath it. oh well….

My wife and I went to Shojin for the first time the other night. This place is simply AMAZING. Props to Quarry Girl for giving us the 411 on this joint. The Stuffed portobello mushrooms are insanely good. Kale Caesars was great. The best thing we ate was the Dragon Roll. How do they do it? It was delicious.

Tried Pirates of the Crunchy & Rock Mountain last night…Rock Mountain was delicious and Pirates of the Crunchy was INCREDIBLE. Rivals Dynamite roll as my favorite.
