good god, somebody pinch me because this cannot be real. stone, one one of our favorite breweries on earth, is hosting their first ENTIRELY VEGAN BEER PAIRING DINNER next month at their world class restaurant in escondido.

we’ve already raved about stone world bistro and gardens a couple times on this blog. in fact we love the restaurant at their brewery so much, it’s where we spent our five year wedding anniversary. when i heard stone would be holding an entirely vegan dinner with four courses and beer for just $49, i couldn’t believe it.

here’s how stone describes the evening…

If you think vegan food means carrot sticks and salad, think again! Experience the pinnacle of vegan dining with us at our special dinner pairing. Chef Alex Carballo has created a amazing dinner showcasing the delicious produce from our local organic farms, and “Dr.” Bill Sysak has carefully selected an excellent craft beer to complement each dish and enhance its extraordinary flavors. Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike will not want to miss this!

we’ve also got a sneak peek at the menu, which looks absolutely fantastic. check it out:

    FIRST COURSE (pictured below)
    ASIAN TRIO
    – Black Quinoa Salad
With baby carrots, citrus, bell peppers, red onions, and garlic dressed in a mirin ginger vinaigrette.
    – Sake Poached Buckwheat Udon Noodles
With green onions, mushrooms, basil, Thai mint, toasted sesame seeds and bean sprouts
    – Avocado Tempura Roll
With nori, cucumber, daikon sprouts, enoki mushrooms and agave nectar soy glaze

    SECOND COURSE (pictured below)
House Made Soy Ricotta Cheese & Zucchini Cannelloni
Served with heirloom tomato and morel mushroom ragout and Stone Farms braised greens

    THIRD COURSE (pictured above)
    Sweet Potato-Stuffed Chili Relleno
Roasted poblano pepper stuffed with sweet potatoes, seasoned San Diego Soy tempeh, zucchini and onions, topped with coconut crema and served on a lentil and black bean cake with ancho chile sauce

    course 1: asian trio

aaaaaaaaah i want to eat it all! stone hasn’t released info on the dessert course or the beers that will be served yet, but when they do i’ll definitely post it.

course 2: housemade soy ricotta cheese and zucchini cannelloni

here are the vitals: the vegan beer pairing will take place on tuesday may 10th at 7pm at stone world bistro & gardens in escondido. you can read more about it here, and get your tickets here.

i know it’s a school night and escondido is a bit of a trek…but this opportunity is seriously too great to pass up. if you live in los angeles, i say take a day off work and make a mini vacation out of it. there’s a hotel within walking distance of the brewery, so you can stumble back to your room after drinking a few too many (i know, i’ve done it)! not only is the restaurant stunningly gorgeous inside and out, but the quality of their food is incredible. i can’t even imagine how good it will be paired with hand selected beers to compliment each dish. come on, let’s support this already awesome brewery for hosting an entirely vegan night!

if you live anywhere near san diego, why are you still reading this? you should be buying tickets.

hope to see you all there! as i said, i will keep the blog updated with beer and dessert info.

  • THIS LOOKS AMAZING….!

  • I need to seriously consider a mini-vacation from Vegas for this….

  • This looks HEAVENLY! Mmmm!

  • I live in the central valley and am completely bummed that I can not attend this event. I love Stone Brewery and do plan to visit as soon as possible. Looking forward to the updates after the event!

  • Just wanted to drop in and say that I attended this event last night and it was absolutely amazing. Each course was more delicious than the last, and beside the listed menu items there was also a vegan ceviche and a coconut milk mint smoothie palate cleanser.

Easily one of the top five meals of my life. I hope Stone does another one of these. I will be there to support it!
