sad news: sante la brea to close next month
8March 26th, 2011LA restaurants, sante la breasay it ain’t so! according to their facebook page, sante la brea is calling it quits in april.
this is such awful news! we’ve been fans of sante’s healthy, delicious, and very vegan-friendly menu for ages and will surely miss them!
yesterday sante la brea announced on facebook that they’d be closing their doors in “a few more weeks”. they further commented on that wall post that they didn’t have an official closing date, but it would be “sometime around april 20th”.
according to my calculations, that means we still have roughly 3 and a half weeks to eat at sante la brea. carpe diem, people!
special thanks to fritz for the tip. he is gonna miss all the gluten-free options, no doubt.

OH NO!! this makes me SO incredibly sad:(:( I was just there today to grab those amazing vegan cookies they have!! I go there at least once a week!!!! NO NO NO!!! :(;(

Yes, this is sad. I surely will miss the Sante Alfredo, substituting rice noodles and with added tempeh! I liked several of the other gluten-free entrees as well, but this was my absolute favorite. It was SO nice that they had an ample selection of delicious gluten-free, vegan entrees! Their delivery service was excellent, too, often arriving within about half an hour. We only ate at the restaurant once, but I very much enjoyed the romantic dinner atmosphere there. We really will miss Sante. And thanks so much for the special mention, QG! Very kind of you! Your blog is the BEST! : )

really too bad. i visited this place once before gordon ramsey paid a visit, and once after.
i had good food on the second visit, and the owners were super cool. for some reason, i’m sad to admit i never went back.
sucks to lose another vegan-friendly place, but i didn’t help them stay in business, that’s for sure. i must have passed that place 100 times on my way to m-cafe or bulan thai…

Sucks, but I never did ever see more than a few people eating there.
But hey, for every vegan restaurant that closes down, two Veggie Grills open! Thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all week.

I’ve been a regular at Sante for about 10 years…I knew the writing was on the wall, but I was hoping they’d chug through it.
