meatless mondays at whole foods in los angeles!
10February 6th, 2011stores, whole foodswe’ve got some pretty exciting news! whole foods locations in los angeles have decided to participate in meatless mondays!
every monday the stores’ prepared foods sections will feature three vegan items at a discount (usually $2 off per pound), and surround them with appropriate sides that would round off a nice meal set…
i don’t know about you, but i LOVE buying prepared foods from whole foods. everything is always so delicious and artfully made, plus they showcase some of my favorite vegan ingredients like gardein and field roast. i’m pretty much never disappointed.
pictured above is the meatless mondays spread at whole foods weho from last week. here’s a sneak peek at their upcoming monday menus:
2/7 – 3/1 Kung Pao Tofu, Smoked Tomato Field Roast, Vegan Antipasto
3/7 – 3/28 Baked Tofu w/cilantro pesto, Gardien Chili Lime Breast, Sweet & Sour Tempeh
4/4 – 4/25 Celebration Stuffed Field Roast, Gardein Rosemary Walnut Breast, Grilled Sweet Chili Tofu
5/2- 5/23 Asian BBQ Tofu, Stuffed Portabello (has Parm), Lemon Herb Tofusounds pretty awesome, right? i love that the prepared foods section at whole foods keeps taking their vegan offerings to the next level. from massive daiya-covered pizzas, to full-on holiday meals with all the fixings, to now a meatless feast every monday. it never ends!
well done, whole foods! i know what i’m eating for dinner tomorrow.
tell ’em, paul!

Is all of that vegan? I thought the sesame tofu contains honey.

Good to hear, because their prepared by-weight food is so freakin expensive.

I was at the Whole Foods Market Beverly Hills on Monday, March 14. They had a “Meatless Mondays” sign on the deli counter with the 3 vegan items listed, but I didn’t see those items in the deli case and when I asked a deli server about it, she looked in the case but couldn’t find the listed items either.
They did have one vegan deli item on sale, but it wasn’t one on the “Meatless Mondays” sign on the deli counter.
