quick bites: cheezy pizza in colton, california
16December 19th, 2010more restaurants (not LA)hey everyone! this quick bite comes to us from quarrygirl reader anderson who is visiting southern california on vacation and recently hit up cheezy pizza in colton. i’ve never been to colton, but apparently it’s in the san bernadino valley and about an hour away from los angeles. after seeing these pictures, i think i NEED TO GO THERE SOON! OMG. check out the crazy pizza, jalapeno calzones and garlic bread below…along with mini reviews for each item!
bbq “chicken” pizza: the crust was really great – like a thick, fluffy neighborhood style pizza place crust.
“jalapeno poppers” – totally not what i was expecting. these were more like mini cheese and jalapeno calzones, but they were so good!
vegan cheesy garlic bread with daiya cheese!

I was scheduled to take a class in Riverside and I was ready to drive to Colton to try out Cheezy Pizza after finding it on Happy Cow and reading the reviews. Class was canceled, butter after this review, I will definitely try it out next time I’m anywhere close. On their website, their vegan menu looks almost the same as their regular, just cruelty free.

Cheezy pizza has easily the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had. The garlic cheese bread is great, also ask for the garlic knots. Make sure to get the ranch. Best vegan ranch I’ve EVER had, nothing tops it. Also they have vegan alfredo pizzas. I go there a few times a month. Also viva la vegan in rancho carries frozen cheezy pizzas!

Holy crap this looks good. I wish it were in Los Angeles, but then again, I’m happy that vegan pizza exists outside of major cities.

P.S. There is a new vegan pizza in LA to try! It’s a very covert, one-man operation called Mystic Pizza, based outta the Silver Lake/Los Feliz area. Not every pizza he makes is vegan, but the vegan pizza he does make is fabulous – “The Vegan: Shaved asparagus, mushrms, roasted garlic, leeks, daiya cheese.”

Oh man, I just moved from Colton to LA a couple of years ago, too… I wish they had been open back then!

Is it still open? Via google maps it looks like it is for lease…

It’s in a mini strip mall, so I imagine that it’s one of the other suites that are up for lease.

This is my favorite Vegan Pizza that I’ve ever had (that isn’t out of my own kitchen!). The Jalapeno poppers were unbelievable!!! The pizza was fantastic and everything was all around amazing!

WOW this is way late, I wish I had seen this post when it was written.. Anyways, anyone in any area of Southern California should check out Cheezy Pizza. It’s by far the best vegan pizza i’ve ever had. The jalapeno poppers are amazing. Vegan ranch is the best AND they’re bottling it now. Every pizza is delicious. IMO, the buffalo ranch chicken pizza is to die for.
