we were mentioned in vegnews, and so were our homies!
11heyo, just a quick post to tell you/shamelessly brag to you that we were mentioned in the latest issue of vegnews! (you know, the january edition with a ridiculously cute alicia silverstone on the front.)
right there on page 22, vegnews lists us in the “foodblog finds section,” with the simple description, “restaurant reviews, searing wit, and a love of all things pizza. what’s not to love?” ahhh, thanks vegnews! the only thing that would have made me a tad happier, is if you would have added “and an irrational hatred for all things bell pepper.” but i will take what i can get.
…and that’s not all! we were also listed right next to one of our BFFs and favorite blogs ever, vegansaurus! you gotta check these kids out; they are a force to be reckoned with.
flip forward to page 63, and you will see a lovely write up on our so-cal based buddies earth cafe! we raved about their raw vegan gluten-free cheesecakes a couple months ago, and it’s still true that they are some of the best desserts i’ve ever eaten. EVER.
so that’s all. just wanted to brag about being in vegnews with my friends. yay!

how long until veg news goes out of print? can’t be long. magazines are dying, especially ones in a niche space like this.
oh well, the journalists can all get jobs as bloggers.

that’s exactly my point. how can they compete with somebody like you who is prepared to do all this for free without a single ad on your site? this is one of the better vegan blogs, but just about everything veg news covers these days is months old by the time I read it in the magazine.

Thanks for the mention, quarrygirl! And don’t worry, Mercury. VegNews is doing just fine, despite the shaky state of the industry.

Mercury must be more on top of things than me, because I see stuff in there that may be old news, but I still haven’t heard about. Don’t underestimate how large a market the uninformed are.
