ever since zpizza (my favorite pizza chain ever) started carrying daiya cheese, i have been on a mission to try everything they offer that’s veganize-able. from the vegan sausage pizza, to the tuscan, to the provence, i have been working my way through their menu.

vegan california: organic tomato sauce, daiya cheese, fresh rounds of tomatoes, red onions, jalapenos, mushrooms, zucchini, black olives

over the weekend i tried out the california pizza with daiya rather than mozzarella cheese, and jalapenos instead of bell peppers. almost every time i try something new at zpizza, i instantly have a new favorite. the same was true of the california pizza, this thing was fucking awesome!

covered in a generous amount of fresh vegetables and topped with perfectly-melted daiya cheese, i really can’t think of a better pizza.

  • The Berkeley is my new fave~ the thai too minus the chicken 🙂

  • is the thai peanut sauce vegan?!

  • i hope it is! i had it last night! the berkely is great too , ( had that also last night) without pesto which isnt vegan ( i think)

  • ok, now I’m Jonesing for pizza. Haven’t been to a Z-Pizza in years. Driving from work (Glendale) to home (Burbank) later …break it down for me, bottom-line:

    Z, or Cruzer?!

  • Pergutory i’m liking better although they are so far away. i hear Vito’s is going to start carrying Daiya!!

  • i don’t think the peanut sauce is vegan. the zpizza worker at burbank told me it was not.

  • A message for Vegans. If you order any zpizza pizza with sausage crumble make sure to have them show their package from Morning Star. You see, after Morning Star was acquired by Kellogs, Kellogs on their own accord decided to start making their sausage crumble with Dairy products. Make sure that your pizza has the old Vegan version of their sausage crumble. personaly, I wouldn’t take any chances and would simply stay away from Morning Star products since they were so cavalier about surreptitously making this change under our Vegan noses! By the way, my wife was served the non-Vegan version of their sausage crumble at the Westlake zPizza one day. They have to be more careful.

  • we’ve been hesitant to try anything other than the Tuscan (’cause we’re in LOVE with that one) but the vegan California pizza looks like my new favorite! i can’t wait to try it! 😀

  • I called before I left the office, and was told that the Burbank Z-Pizza has vegan cheese, but not vegan sausage. For my work-based convenience, looks like I’m sticking with Cruzer, but when I get time to stray a little bit geographically, I’m going to check out Purgatory.

List of vegan offerings at ZPizza. Personally, I’m in love with the roasted garlic sauce!

  • I’m going to cry myself to sleep now wishing I lived to ONE place that served vegan food besides fucking french fries.
