Meh. I don’t understand all the babycakes hype. I’ve only been there twice, but I was highly disappointed each time. All 4 cupcakes I tried (A brownie cupcake with vanilla frosting, a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting, a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting, and a red velvet) all tasted very healthy (in a BAD way) and very grainy. They tasted like those health food cereal muffins you can get at whole foods by zen bakery. Not bad if that’s what you’re in the mood for, but yucky if you were expecting a decadent, traditional tasting cupcake.

GAH Larchmont Village?! UGHHHHHHHH
I remember them mentioning opening another location before and I was THRILLED because downtown is an armpit and parking sucks, but they mentioned places like West Hollywood and Venice. I was hoping this one would be closer/easier, but not really. Oh well :/ poop. -
Do you have celiac disease or gluten allergy? For those that do it’s pretty amazing to have any kind of baked goods at all. If you aren’t GF try some of their spelt things. I’m not GF but I really liked their cookie sandwich.

Great that they are opening up a second location, but I second Maria, why not the westside?

I guarantee you that there is nothing all that “healthy” about anything from Babycakes. Lots of fat and lots of sugar.

Heh, I didn’t say they are healthy, I said they are healthy tasting. I don’t believe that most foods being marketed as healthy are in fact healthy, but they do have a distinct flavor/texture that other foods do not. I did not enjoy the grainy taste and dense texture of babycakes’ cupcakes at all.

Don’t think they taste like health food cereal muffins, at all. Tastes pretty close to real cupcakes, esp considering, I’m not a staunch vegan and have had a real cupcake in the past couple of years
