vegan cadbury creme eggs
21nowno longer available in LAApril 7th, 2011vegan bakersUPDATE 4/8/11: the fakery bakery is no longer taking orders for vegan creme eggs or peanut butter cups. the response was overwhelming, and she can only make so many. she’s just one woman people, chill out! to the hundreds of you who ordered, enjoy your easter eggz!
to help out animals in japan, the fakery bakery has decided to re-open its doors and sell vegan creme eggs and peanut butter cups, just in time for zombie jesus day.
here are the details…
place your order vegan cadbury creme eggs and/or peanut butter cups by emailing the fakery bakery. the pricing is the same for both: 6 for $10. (minimum order is 6.) they’ll be available for pick up sunday april 24th from noon-3pm at locali. proceeds will be will be donated to japan earthquake animal rescue and support.
now aside from this being for a good cause and all, these cadbury creme eggs and peanut butter cups are probably the best vegan candy i’ve ever had. SERIOUSLY. the fakery bakery has nailed vegan milk chocolate in a way i’ve never tasted, and i am obsessed with these things. you’ll really want to take advantage of this limited offer.
PS: just so you know, the creme eggs are handmade, so the shape can vary. they don’t look exactly like the commercial creme eggs we know and (used to) love, but the taste is dead on…right down to the “yolk” in the middle.

Hi! I hate for this to be my first comment but I sent an order to The Fakery Bakery and they sent me this reply:
Thank you for your inquiry. The Fakery Bakery is currently not in business. You may want to try http://cestlavbakeshop.com/ for all of

I’m temped but I wish pick up was before zombie jesus day and not smack dab in the middle of it.

Oh boy, if only such things were available in New York. Amazing!

I too am on a healthier track at the moment but I may just have to splurge for these. It’s for a good cause so in a way it would be quite selfish not to. Right?
-
It’s too bad they can only be picked up on Easter. I live in Riverside and will be in San Diego that day with my three grandchildren, but I would have ordered some if I could have picked them up beforehand.

For all of those who didn’t make it in time, check out this recipe. It only requires substituting the butter. 🙂

These vegan creme eggs were so delicious…I had pre-ordered and picked them up earlier today, and my friends and I ate them immediately with our afternoon coffee…so terrific…back on my diet now unfortunately, hehe.
