VEGAN SLIDERS coming to flore on friday!
17March 10th, 2011flore, LA restaurantsomg omg omg. i am so excited. sliders are the best thing ever! it’s common knowledge that cute mini food is waaaaaay better than normal food, and sliders are just that: tiny adorable burgers that are far superior to their full grown counterparts. as of friday march 11th, flore vegan (one of the best restaurants in town) won’t just be offering sliders…but they’re adding AN ENTIRE SLIDER MENU. my head is gonna explode. check it out:

am i the only one freaking out about this? this slider menu has everything! there’s a mini burger for everyone, no matter what type of food you prefer:
are you all up in the fake meaty meats?
bbq bacon slider.are you a purist who prefers protein from beans?
chickpea slider with hummus.diggin’ the vegetables and natural stuff?
brocccoli and kale slider. with bonus points for cheese made of cashews.feeling retro?
tempeh meatloaf slider.are you a fungus-phile?
mushroom slider with portobello seitan and cremini.aaaaaaaaaaaaah i can’t wait to go try every single one of these. see you all at flore.

So, I assume you can mix and match two types in one order?
PS – “Slider” is one of the most disgusting-sounding names for a food. Perhaps the only thing worse is “Orangina”.

i like the name slider! slide me a slider across the bar. i’ll slide it into me gut.
plus, the slider is a lovely breed of turtle, and a great t. rex song.

Meh, they sound pretty bland to be honest. For instance I assume the portobello-seitan slider is the same meat they use in their burger, which tastes like the bread it’s served on.

I hope you can mix n’ match, because eating all of them kind of makes the mini part an oxymoron.
Oh well. Sliders. In. Mah. Belly.

I thought the name “Sliders” originated with White Castle …they slide in…then you’re right on the john as they slide out. 😉

Get out to Tony’s Darts Away in Burbank…they have some great ones. Not daily, though, but I think the last 5 or 6 times I’ve been there, so maybe now they are.

I tried to bbq bacon slider and the broccoli cheese slider today and was expecting to love the bbq bacon one but it was only okay. It was kinda dry and really didn’t have much flavor. The broccoli cheese one, however, was incredible. There was a ton of creamy cashew cheese and the patty was really tasty. It was kind of like macaroni and cheese with broccoli but in mini burger form, super comfort food-y.
