we have been waiting for awhile, and the day is finally here! kindkreme, LA’s dairy-free ice cream parlor, is opening a second location in pasadena this weekend!

i got a chance to scope out the new digs, and this place is even bigger and better than the original. here are some pix and things you can look forward to at the grand opening on february 5th…

    tons of vegan flavors!

first off, there are TONS of dairy-free ice cream flavors at the new location—26 to be exact! most of them are vegan, and although a few contain honey, they are clearly marked. check out more about kindkreme’s honey policy on their website.

there’s also new menu items…including ice cream sandwiches with cookies from babycakes. in fact, the first 100 customers at kindkreme on saturday get a free mini sandwich with their purchase. there’s also gonna be a brand new cafe menu that includes a daily sandwich, salad, hummus, nachos, and a raw cheese plate. stoked!

the new kindkreme in pasadena is much bigger than the studio city location. it’s got plenty of seating, and room to stretch out and enjoy your treats. they’ve got normal tables and chairs, as well as couches and big comfy seats. on sunday, they are going to have a superbowl party with free vegan snacks…so be sure to check that out.

they’ve also got a huge fridge stocked with ice cream pints, plus lots of other raw desserts and drinks like kombucha.

in addition to much more space inside, the pasadena kindkreme also has a massive parking lot that is supposedly empty at night time. overall this new location is a huge upgrade, and i’m pretty excited about it. it’s also located right next to arguably the best whole foods in los angeles, so you can do your shopping then chill out with delicious raw ice cream.

see you guys at the grand opening on 2/5!

    Oh fantastic, terrific, marvelous, splendid!!!!!
I live in the 626 and I’m total Pasadena girl since birth and I go to that WF all the time.
Wow this is the best news I’ve heard in weeks, thanks QG!!! 😀

  • Looks and sounds GREAT! Wish they had a Hollywood location!

  • I went there on Monday (they seem to be open already), and Jessica was so helpful. She radiated joy and good energy.

It is lovely inside, and as another “626” person (well … highland park), we are very delighted to have another vegan option so close to home.

the ice cream i had was delish, and i’m looking forward to going back and trying their savory items (nachos!) and more treats.

hooray kind kreme for coming to Pasadena!

real food daily … veggie grill … native foods … where are you? hope you are not far behind.

  • Thirteen dollars for a banana split and fourteen for a waffle cone? Am I too cheap or is that a bit too pricey for ice cream?

  • Ahh! I wish I were in Los Angeles right now! Anyone who goes there should definitely check out My Vegan restaurant (before getting dessert). It is like a block away and they have the best vegan orange chicken!

  • I usually go to My Vegan for dessert before I play hockey up in Pasadena. Now I knew where I’ll be going 🙂

Sorry Scoops, you’ve got some competition for my ice cream dollar now…

  • Finally some Pasadena love!!! Woo-hoo! And our Whole Foods IS the best Whole Foods. Period. =)

    ^ I agree!!

  • I am super excited about this new Kind Kreme location because it is within walking distance from me!

  • How does it compare to the Studio City location? I went there right after they opened and was impressed with the owners but not the food. I figured it might’ve just been growing pains — they’d just opened — and kept meaning to go back, but it was right next to Sunpower, maybe my favorite LA vegan restaurant, so whenever I was in the neighborhood I always went there instead. Willing to try again, especially since I’m in Pasadena a lot and the only real vegan options up there are My Vegan (pretty good) and Rawsheed’s (great when Rawsheed is around, which he never is when I’m there!)

  • another reason to move to pasadena

  • Went there tonight! I had Fresh and my daughter had Chocolate. Both were delicious!!

  • Any idea when the Echo Park space is opening?
