i’m typically not a salad person, but lately i can’t get enough of mixt greens on wilshire.

the fast-casual eatery is kind of like the chipotle of salad bars—you order at the counter and choose your ingredients one by one, then watch them get all mixed up in a bowl before your eyes. everything at mixt greens is super high quality. we are talking fresh, organic, locally sourced, and seasonal. the best of the best, and you can taste the difference.

lots of nice things to choose from!

the vegan options at mixt greens are plentiful…naturally they have tons of vegetables to choose from, as well as nuts, beans, quinoa, tofu and soba noodles…

mixt greens salad with cucumbers, onion, mushroom, jimaca, soba noodles and fat free balamic dressing. $6.95

i always go with the design your own option for $6.95 which includes choice of greens, 4 “staples”, 1 “specialty”, and choice of dressing.

on the times i’ve visited, the employees at mixt greens have been super knowledgeable about veganism and have been able to tell me which dressings are safe to eat—i usually stick with the fat-free balsamic. all the staples and specialities are awesome…my favorite combo is hearts of palm, red onion, chickpeas, jimaca, and cherry tomatoes. the portion is huge for $6.95, especially considering all the top notch ingredients mixt greens uses.

this place has reminded me that i really do love salad, it just has to be done right. mixt greens serves up huge overflowing bowls of colorful produce that look and taste amazing. be sure to check them out!
