vegans in los angeles: have you been to stuff i eat yet? if the answer is no, you are really missing out!

stuff i eat is one of our favorite places to eat in town by far (after all, we did name it one of the top 5 vegan restaurants in LA)…and every time we go there it’s better than the last. we hit up the small inglewood eatery this weekend with an out of town friend, and everything was beyond delicious.

Kilamanjaro Quesadilla: Quesadilla topped with organic wild and black rice, seasoned tofu, black beans, mock chicken salad, carrot untuna, organic sautéed Portobello mushrooms, sautéed broccoli, tomatoes, corn, and guacamole. $15

i ordered the kilamanjaro quesadilla for the first time—and my plate arrived with enough food to feed a small village. it’s basically a HUGE quesadilla filled with vegan cheese (which you can’t even see in the picture!), covered with rice, black beans, seasoned tofu, mock chicken, carrot untuna, and sauteed vegetables. the thing was huge and every component of it was mind-blowingly tasty.

my favorite part of the quesadilla would have to be stuff i eat’s own mixture of mock tuna made from carrots. i don’t know how they do it, but it is so damn good.

Sumthin-Sumthin: Organic wild and black rice, seasoned tofu, black beans, topped with savory sauce, organic tomatoes, corn, guacamole, a scoop of Carrot “Un-Tuna”, and two corn tortilla shells. $12

our buddy ordered the “sumthin-sumthin”—a plate of rice, beans, vegetables, tofu, and untuna served with tortillas to scoop it up with. it was presented beautifully, and according to him it was excellent. i just don’t think you can go wrong with a dish called “sumthin-sumthin”!

Breakfast Burrito: Organic yellow polenta (grits), cottage fried potatoes, tofu sausage, tofu scramble, salsa, kale, guacamole, savory sauce, and SIE dressing. $11

lastly, my husband ordered stuff i eat’s breakfast burrito. the breakfast items are only served on weekends, and they are definitely worth trying out. the burrito was enormous and filled with polenta, potatoes, tofu sausage, tofu scramble, salsa, kale, and guacamole. can you believe ALL that stuff came in just one burrito?! seriously, it’s one of the best breakfast items in LA.

so go check out stuff i eat as soon as you can. i know that their fresh food and huge portions will make you a fan for life.

  • My family and I go to Stuff I Eat regularly. I think it is one of the best vegan secrets in LA.

  • OMG I adore this place and the owners. I wish it was closer!

  • I’ve only been here once, it was very good. Must go back soon, I wish they were closer too!!

  • I wish they could deliver their food to the Co-Op or a Whole Foods. I’d eat it every day! Stuff I Eat is 100% the best Vegan Restaurant in the LA area! Its a straight shoot down the 405 if traffic is light I can be there in minutes. Also, if you’re coming from anywhere east of the 405, La Cienega is fast! 55mph speed limit in parts.

  • carrots in a mock tuna salad–very interesting!

  • wow, those pics are amazing. I may have to make the trip to Inglewood just to experience this.

  • i can’t believe there is a quesadilla under all of that food! must go there ASAP.

  • I am so glad you reviewed this restaurant for I have been intending to try but wanted to know more. Well, now I do. Thanks!

  • How have I not been here?!

  • can you BYO beer/wine?

  • L-O-V-E this restaurant! Great food, great service, we MUST support them!!! Maybe they can open a 2nd location in the valley???

  • I have been working in LA for a few months and went there as it was one of your recommended restaurants and it is AMAZING! First time I went I had the soul food platter at 1 pm – did not eat for the rest of the day. (it’s for two people, really) Their veggie tacos are the best I’ve ever had anywhere. (my non-vegan husband begs for me to bring them back when I fly home) Not only is the food amazing, the people working there are fantastic. B(tw, the first time I went they asked how I heard about them and I said “quarrygirl”. They said they love you!)
