vegan mother’s day in LA? here are your options!
7May 6th, 2011vegan eventswanna take mom out and show her that vegan food is actually delicious and not weird?! here are your LA options for that special day.
1.) madeleine bistro. i don’t even know what their mother’s day menu is yet, and i don’t care. this is the best vegan restaurant in town and they are KNOWN for their extravagant holiday menus, so just go there. trust me, just call and make a reservation. they are closing in two weeks-ish, so this may be your last chance. stalk them facebook style for up-t0-date deets!
2.) native foods.
this restaurant always has a tendency to bring it when it comes to vegan holiday dishes! this year they are offering an insane benedict special that i need to eat. benedicts are my jam, and this one sounds extraordinary: warm grilled baguette slices topped with native scrambler, native smoked bacon, steamed kale, and homemade hollandaise…served with chilled watermelon salad for $9.95. available at all locations. yes please!
3.) shojin.
duh, shojin is awesome for special occasions. obviously everyone is lagging this year, because they haven’t released their mother’s day menu yet either. all we know is, it’s $39 per person and will take place on saturday AND sunday from noon-10pm. book it now to ensure a spot.
4.) m cafe. in honor of mum, they’ll be serving heart-shaped strawberry shortcakes (pictured up top) and raspberry chocolate sacher tortes at both locations.
5.) jam vegan bakery. they are offering up vegan baked goods on mother’s day. check out the email they sent me:

Also, we will have $15 grab-n-go gift bags filled with Vegan Cupcakes, Cookies, and Cake Pops, as well as individual sale treats, this Sunday May 8th from 12-3pm at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland!

kitchen witch, who had an amazing bakesale for easter outside of locali, is doing mothers day treats for pickup at 9am next to figueroa produce. Info is on her twitter @mskitchenwitch. Her raspberry fairy cakes are some of the best vegan treets I’ve ever had.

Savyon Cafe is having their weekly Sunday buffet too at 6118 West Pico from 11:30AM to 4PM for $10.99 all you can eat gourmet vegan. Not the most glamorous looking place, but the food is awesome, and the price is great.
