vegan-friendly st. patrick’s day at surly goat with bangers & smashed!
13March 15th, 2011bangers and smashed, LA restaurantsUPDATE: bangers and smashed has just confirmed that they will be selling VEGAN SAUSAGES as well as vegan mashed potatoes at the event! yes! the sausage plate comes with 2 sausages and 2 scoops of potatoes for ten bucks, or you can get 2 scoops of potatoes for $5! so stoked that this event is so vegan-friendly! cheers!
vegans like to celebrate st. patrick’s day by getting drunk, gorging on potatoes festive “irish” foods, and participating in a bunch of needless pinching just as much as other americans…right? right! that’s why surly goat in west hollywood is the place to be this thursday.
the folks at the goat are teaming up with our favorite gourmet potato mashing company, bangers and smashed to bring us a st. patrick’s day party shindig that will please vegans and omnivores alike.
we’ve been hardcore fans of the goat since even before they officially opened. their tap list is constantly changing, and they’re one of our favorite beer bars in los angeles (along with tony’s darts away). if you haven’t checked them out yet, this is a great chance. the bar will be opening early at 2pm (they usually open at 6), and bangers and smashed will be there slinging mashed potatoes for everybody…including vegans!
here are the details:
thursday march 17th
there will be crazy culinary concoctions from bangers and smashed from 2-9pm (or while supplies last)
the vegan option is whisky mash with irish sweet potatoes, and it’s 2 scoops for $5
loads of craft beer on tapsee you guys there!

Aw, they had to go and ruin it by putting whiskey in it. Don’t they know that a lot of vegans are also teetotalers? #square
