Damn, I already have a vegan pizza for tonight!

I’m not sure I can make the 3300km drive from Winnipeg to LA before he’s gone! 🙂

Went there last night, ordered a “Chef Ricky Special,” and let him know how much I have appreciated his vegan pizzas over the last few months.
He hooked up a perfectly cooked pie with tomatoes, mushrooms, basil and carmelized onions. (They were out of the field roast sausage, which is a favorite of mine.)
Best pizza I’ve had at Purgatory so far.
Gonna miss you, Chef Ricky. Good luck in Seattle!

BF and I stopped by for our first Purgatory visit and had a yummy vegan chicken, basil and garlic pizza with fresh herbs. We ended up eating it there because we wanted to make sure we had it at its best (we live in Burbank, and were afraid that the pizza would’ve lost a lot of heat on the way home).
Unfortunately, last night’s pizza confirmed my suspicions after my Cruzer pizza – Daiya and I do not mix. *sigh* Damned my delicate digestion!
We met Ricky and wished him luck – Seattle’s gain is definitely L.A.’s loss!

The hubby and I tried it for the first time last night and it did not disappoint. We opted for the Classic with Gardein and Field Roast Sausage (I could eat those by the handful). Not only was the pizza insanely good, but the service was awesome and they really seem like genuinely friendly guys. I am in left over cold pizza heaven at the moment, so I’ll leave you with that 🙂

BTW, the sign outside their window said that they will be extending their hours and are soon to be open for lunch!
